Park District wins Best of Bloomingdale

The Bloomingdale Park District was awarded Best of Bloomingdale in the Not for Profit category at the Inaugural Bloomingdale Chamber of Commerce Best of Bloomingdale event held May 11 at Medinah Shrine Center in Addison.

In the November 2016 election, voters overwhelmingly approved the Bloomingdale Park District’s referendum request to sell bonds to fund repairs and improvements to the Springfield Park ball fields and wetlands, Oasis Water Park and Johnston Recreation Center. Since that time, the Park District has begun planning each of the projects.

Finance Department earns award for excellence in financial reporting

The Bloomingdale Park District announced today that its finance department’s comprehensive annual financial report was awarded the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting by the Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada (GFOA). This is the sixth straight year the Park District has earned the distinction.

Bloomingdale Residents Identify Springfield Park, Johnston Recreation Center and the Oasis Water Park as Priorities for Repair and Improvement

In opinion research conducted by the Bloomingdale Park District this summer, Bloomingdale residents identified three park district capital assets as the highest priorities for repair and improvement: Springfield Park ballfields and wetlands, The Oasis Water Park and the Johnston Recreation Center.

Eagle Scout idea benefits local lakes and ponds

Local Eagle Scout Jason Joda of Roselle is an avid fisherman and one thing he frequently noticed while enjoying his favorite hobby was the abundance of fishing line left around common fishing spots. After looking online for a solution, he happened to see PVC recycling tubes as the answer to the problem.
