The Bloomingdale Park District was awarded Best of Bloomingdale in the Not for Profit category at the Inaugural Bloomingdale Chamber of Commerce Best of Bloomingdale event held May 11 at Medinah Shrine Center in Addison.

The Bloomingdale Park District is actively planning the capital projects identified by the community as needing repair and/or improvement based upon the successful referendum in November 2016.

In the November 2016 election, voters overwhelmingly approved the Bloomingdale Park District’s referendum request to sell bonds to fund repairs and improvements to the Springfield Park ball fields and wetlands, Oasis Water Park and Johnston Recreation Center. Since that time, the Park District has begun planning each of the projects.

The Bloomingdale Park District announced today that its
finance department’s comprehensive annual financial report was awarded the
Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting by the
Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada (GFOA).
This is the sixth straight year the Park District has earned the distinction.

Local Eagle Scout Jason Joda of Roselle is an avid fisherman and one thing he frequently noticed while enjoying his favorite hobby was the abundance of fishing line left around common fishing spots. After looking online for a solution, he happened to see PVC recycling tubes as the answer to the problem.
