Circle Park Playground CLOSED

The Circle Park playground will be shut down beginning Wednesday, September 13 to address poured-in-place surfacing issues. The existing surfacing will be removed and replaced with the tentative re-opening of the playground September 20. During this time the labyrinth, counsel ring and gaga pit will remain open. JRC Renovation Open House

The Bloomingdale Park District will hold an open house for the public to review draft plans of the proposed renovation for the Johnston Recreation Center (JRC). The session will run 10 a.m. to noon, August 26 in the Community Room of the JRC, 172 S. Circle Ave., in Bloomingdale.

The Bloomingdale Park District was awarded Best of Bloomingdale in the Not for Profit category at the Inaugural Bloomingdale Chamber of Commerce Best of Bloomingdale event held May 11 at Medinah Shrine Center in Addison.

In the November 2016 election, voters overwhelmingly approved the Bloomingdale Park District’s referendum request to sell bonds to fund repairs and improvements to the Springfield Park ball fields and wetlands, Oasis Water Park and Johnston Recreation Center. Since that time, the Park District has begun planning each of the projects.

Finance Department earns award for excellence in financial reporting

The Bloomingdale Park District announced today that its finance department’s comprehensive annual financial report was awarded the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting by the Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada (GFOA). This is the sixth straight year the Park District has earned the distinction.
