"On October 11th, the Bloomingdale Park District received the 2006 National Gold Medal Award for Park and Recreation Management Excellence in Seattle, WA. This award is presented by the American Academy for Park and Recreation Administration in partnership with the National Recreation and Park Association (NRPA). The award recognizes excellence in long range planning, fiscal resource management, citizen support systems, environmental stewardship, preservation, technological integration, program planning and assessment, professional development, agency recognition, and services for special populations.

Your ongoing support of the Park District is testament to your confidence in our programs, parks and people. And, for that we thank you!

2006 National Gold Medal Award A Great Time was had by All!

Residents, friends, and neighbors came together on January 28, 2007 to take part in a celebration honoring the Gold Medal Award recently received by the Bloomingdale Park District. This community-wide celebration highlighted the Park District’s achievements and journey to receiving the 2006 Gold Medal Award. There was a formal presentation and everyone had the opportunity to view the award winning gold medal video.

After the ceremony participants visited our video booth and shared their Park District memories, contributed to our Park District banner, played BPD Jeopardy, participated in the Deal or No Deal raffle, tried their luck at the Gold Medal Toss, visited with Park District commissioners and staff, and just had lots of fun!
