Proudly serving families from Bloomingdale and surrounding communities since 1973. Once Upon a Time Preschool encourages the development of a well-balanced child. We offer a comprehensive readiness for school program addressing physical, emotional, social and intellectual needs. Our goal is to creatively and effectively teach students socialization, fine and gross motor skills, and basic academics including, language arts, math, science, and art. Eligibility

  • Intro to Preschool students must be 2 ½ by December 31, 2009
  • Tiny Tots students must be 3 by September 1, 2009
  • Pre Kindergarten students must be 4 by September 1, 2009
  • All children must be potty-trained and able to take care of their own bathroom needs.
     

How to Register
Registration is currently being accepted for the 2009/2010 school year. Click here for the Form or go to the JRC, 172 South Circle Avenue, Bloomingdale. Completed forms should be mailed, faxed, or dropped off in person. Instructors Consent is required for registration after 12/31/09. Please call to schedule an appointment.

REGISTRATION TIPS
  • Attach a copy of child’s birth certificate
  • Include all applicable fees including: $50 non-refundable deposit, the first month’s payment, and a $20 graduation fee for pre kindergarten students. 
  • Be sure to complete all information on the forms.
  • Designate a second choice on your registration form.

Intro To Preschool (em)
Intro to Preschool is a program for preschoolers who do not meet the September 1 age requirement for Tiny Tots. Children in the Intro to Preschool program will be introduced to the school experience through a variety of activities. Class time will feature group activities, story time, snack time, singing, and free play. The main focus in Intro to Preschool is socialization, group interaction, and following directions. Children must be two-and-a-half years old and toilet trained by the first day of class to participate in this class. Children will bring a snack and drink daily. A complete list of program dates will be distributed on the first day of class. Priority registration will be given to Intro to Preschool students for the Tiny Tots program the following year.

Tiny Tots (em)
This program introduces the 3 & 4-year old child to the school experience. Children will meet new friends, develop fine and gross motor skills, be introduced to basic colors, shapes and name recognition. Children must be toilet trained and be at least 3-years old on or before September 1 prior to the first day of school. Children will bring a snack and drink daily. Children registered in Tiny Tots will be given priority for the Pre-Kindergarten program the following year.

Pre Kindergarten(em)
Pre Kindergarten focuses mainly on developing the skills necessary for Kindergarten. Readiness skills include color, shape, letter and number recognition, D'Nealian printing, arts & crafts, self help, singing, group cooperation, following directions, and reading readiness. Children must be potty trained and 4 years old on or before September 1 prior to the first day of school.  Children will bring a snack and drink daily.

Preschool Extended Club (em)
Preschool Extended Club is a wonderful extension of our preschool program available to registered Tiny Tots and Pre-K Once Upon a Time Preschool students. Your preschooler will join friends from their class and meet new friends from other preschool classes. The Preschool Extended Club can be a very enriching and fun experience for children. Our caring and experienced staff provides lots fun activities that your child will look forward to. We are proud to offer a program where you know that your children are being cared for in a safe, fun, and stimulating environment. Visit us to see why our program is so outstanding. Once Upon a Time Adventures
Every day is an adventure! Once Upon a Time Adventures is a wonderful extension of our preschool program. Your preschooler will join friends from their class and meet new friends from other preschool classes. Once Upon a Time Adventures is a very enriching and fun experience, incorporating learning and fun. Our caring and experienced staff provides enjoyable activities that your child will look forward to. Open House
The first day of class is designated as a parent child open house. Bring your child during their regular class time to see their classroom and meet the teachers and fellow classmates. The Preschool Extended Care classroom will also be open during all preschool open house times. Dates TBT.
