Bloomingdale Artists Association Summer Members' Show & fotomuses "Homage"
Exhibit: May 16 - June 20, 2009

The Bloomingdale Artists Association (BAA) will present their "best of the best" artwork for sale at the annual summer members' show in Gallery l. Awards will be presented at the reception.

Also, the fotomuses will have their showing of "Homage", in Gallery ll. The fotomuses, on award-winning group of talented women photographers will exhibit and offer for sale, their wonderful work. It is said that imitation is the sincerest form of flattery. This show is a photographic tribute to the Masters of Art throughout history by borrowing their uses of light, line, color, composition, or subject matter.

Artist's Book & The Art of Sumi-E

On Saturday, May 30, 2009 from 1-3 pm, Artist Cheri Fakes, member of BAA, will provide a 2 hour seminar on the art of Sumi-e (Japanese black-ink painting). Midwest Collage Society

The Midwest Collage Society promotes collage as a fine art by providing an exhibit and professional development activities to our members. Artisits' workshops reflect a diverse artistic vocabulary of materials. Our artists typically add paper elements to water based media and use cavas platforms. Members apply various techniques to incorporate image and text transfers, handmade papers, vintage text, photgraphs, maps, found objects, beads, fibers and metals.
