Children ages 6-14 may experience the ultimate athletic experience on a much smaller scale at the Third Annual Kids Triathlon Aug. 7 at Circle Park, 163 Fairfield Way. Races begin at 9 a.m.

Each participant completes a 50-yard swim, one-mile bike ride and 1/2 mile run. There are four age divisions for the competition (6-7, 8-9, 10-11, 12-14). The 6-7-year-old division has a shorter course than the other age divisions.

Competitors receive a water bottle and T-shirt. Ribbons are awarded to the first, second and third-place winners in each division. All participants must have a swimsuit, running shoes, bicycle and bicycle helmet to participate.

Registration deadline is July 30. Cost is $19 for residents and $25 for non-residents.
