Swim lessons are available for all age levels from infants through adults. The swim lesson program offers a complete curriculum that encourages students to succeed and develop skills. Swim lessons provide a fun learning experience, encourages fitness, and teaches participants how to be safe in and around the water. Check each level to choose the correct placement for your swimmer.
Instructors reserve the right to place the participant in the class best suited to his or her ability.
Don’t want to commit to a whole session of swim lessons? On Wednesdays from 1PM-3PM and 7PM-8PM instructors will be available at The Oasis for an “on the spot” private swim lesson. Just register at The Oasis front desk on Wednesdays and a time will be assigned for your private lesson the very same day. The fee for an ‘on the spot” private lesson is $20/half hour lesson. All ages and swim levels are welcome to participate.
Classes will be cancelled only in the event of severe weather. One rain date is available each session. Refunds/credits will not be issued due to missed lessons for inclement weather. During a session when the air temperature is cool or the weather conditions are questionable, every effort will be made to conduct classes. Safety procedures and out-of-water instruction will take place during cooler weather when appropriate. Telephone calls to individual participants will not be made to participants in the event of swim lesson cancellation. On days when the weather is questionable, call 630-539-3095 no more than 30 minutes before your lesson time to inquire about the status of swim lessons.
Private swim lessons are available on a limited basis. Please call the Park District at 529-3650 to have your name placed on an interest list. If there is availability you will be contacted by the Swim Lesson Coordinator to arrange your private lessons. However, due to the extreme popularity of private lessons the Park District is sometimes unable to find time to accommodate everyone on the list. Placing your name on the interest list does not mean you will be called for a private lesson. Private lessons are on a first come first serve basis as time slots become available. The private lesson fee is $60.00 for four 1/2-hour lessons for residents. The non-resident fee is an additional $20.00.
