Fullerton honored by Illinois House of Representatives

State Representative Diane Pappas, 45 District of Illinois, recently presented Bloomingdale Park District Executive Director Carrie Fullerton with a copy of House Resolution No. 108, honoring Fullerton after she received the Illinois Association of Park Districts' Honored Professional Award.

The resolution reads as follows:

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives wish to congratulate Carrie Fullerton, Executive Director of the Bloomingdale Park District, on receiving the Illinois Association of Park Districts' (IAPD) Honored Professional Award; and 

WHEREAS, Carrie Fullerton has served IAPD and the Illinois Parks & recreation Association in many capacities, including as board member, board chair, board secretary, continuing education chair, finance committee member, and legislative breakfast coordinator,; since 1997, she has presented many conference sessions; and

WHEREAS, Carrie Fullerton attended the University of Illinois and has served on the Department of Leisure Studies Advisor yBoard and Graduate Advisory Committee; presently, she is a member of the Western DuPage Speical Recreation Association Board of Directors; at the national level, she has chaired the National Recreation & Park Association National Revenue School and has spoken at several park and recreation conference sessions, most recently in Colorado, Georgia, and Alabama; and

WHEREAS, Carrie Fullerton has published numerous articles, and, in 2002, received the Best Marketing Article of the Year Award from IP&R Magazine; and

WHEREAS, Carrie Fullerton has received many honors, including the University of Illinois' Joseph Bannon Practitional Award and the American Academy of Park & recreation Administration's Young Professional Award; she was named Outstanding Professional of the YEar by the NRPA Great Lakes Region, Professional of the Year by both IPRA and Facility Management Sections, and was named one of the "Power 25" leaders in the Leisure Industry by Aquatics International; she was a member of the American Academy for Park and Recreation Administration; and

WHEREAS, Besides being a consummate professional, Carrie Fullerton is a loyal employee, a trusted friend, and a loving and caring wife and mother, she and her husband, Paul, have four children; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate Carrie Fullerton on receiving the Illinois Association of Park District's Honored Professional Award, and we wish her the best in her future endeavors; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to Carrie Fullerton as an expression of our esteem and respect.
