The Bloomingdale Park District recently started the conversion of turf grass to pollinator meadow habitat at Westlake Park. The work is part of a $9,500 grant from the Illinois Clean Energy Community Foundation that covers 50% of the cost.

The Bloomingdale Park District announced today that Daily Herald journalist Trey Arline was honored as one of Illinois Parks' Top Journalists by the Illinois Association of Park Districts (IAPD). Arline was nominated by the Bloomingdale Park District and will receive his award at the IAPD Best of the Best Awards Gala October 15 at Chevy Chase Country Club in Wheeling.

A new and improved Circle Park path and parking lot are coming your way! Work begins September 29 on new concrete ADA parking stalls near the south end of Circle Park, as well as the accessible ramp that connects to the Westfield Middle School parking lot on the north end of the park. Parking lot asphalt patching and restriping, along with path resurfacing, is scheduled to begin October 11.

Mask Policy as of August 30, 2021

In accordance with the order of the Governor of the State of Illinois, masks are mandatory for indoor public settings for all individuals over the age of 2, regardless of vaccination status, effective August 30, 2021.

Bloomingdale Park District Director of Recreation Sandy Vangundy was recognized as a Community Exemplar at the Bloomingdale School District 13 Board of Education Meeting held August 23 at the District Administrative Office.

A conceptual plan for potential improvements to Stratford Park is currently on display at the Johnston Recreation Center, 172 S. Circle Ave., in Bloomingdale. The public is welcome to view the plan and fill out a comment card next to the display. The improvements are dependent upon an Open Space Lands Acquisition and Development (OSLAD) grant through the State of Illinois.

Bloomingdale Park District announced today that Tania Rodriguez has been hired as a recreation supervisor. Rodriguez has worked as an office assistant in the District’s Parks & Planning Department since 2012.

For your protection, effective immediately, the Bloomingdale Park District (BPD) requires all staff, independent contractors, and unvaccinated patrons to wear masks in all BPD’s indoor public settings, including the B-Fit Center, unless no other patrons outside your household are in attendance. It is recommended vaccinated patrons wear masks indoors.
