Annual Report
Since 1964, the Bloomingdale Park District has strived to efficiently and economically provide recreation programs, facilities and open space for enjoyable leisure time experiences that benefit the community.
The 2019-20 fiscal year was certainly challenging, as the Park District temporarily shut down mid-March due to the coronavirus pandemic. Additionally, the District welcomed new executive director Joe Potts just one month later in April. Amid the massive changes, Park District staff and the Board of Commissioners were quick to adapt and adjust to residents’ needs. In recognition of their efforts, the District was later presented the Illinois Association of Park District’s Power in the Parks award.
The Bloomingdale Park District fiscal year begins on June 1st of each year and ends on May 31st. The revenues and expenditures charts in the Annual Report reflect those dates. Due to printing deadlines and timing, other content in this report covers September 1, 2019, to September 30, 2020.
The Park District is an award-winning agency dedicated to maintaining and preserving the community’s assets, as opposed to building new, while also providing fun, affordable, convenient, trendy and safe programming for all.
