COVID-19 Participant Protocols
March 9, 2024
Dear BPD Patron,
The CDC recently updated their recommendations for preventing the spread of respiratory viruses, including COVID-19.
Here is a summary of the key points of focus for the BPD:
Focus on Prevention Stay up to date on vaccinations (flu, COVID-19, RSV).
Practice good hygiene (coughing/sneezing etiquette, handwashing).
Take steps for cleaner and improved air.
Stay Home When Sick Stay home if they are experiencing symptoms.
Returning to Programming/Regular Activities Return to work/programming when: Symptoms improve for 24 hours.
Fever free for 24 hours without medication.
Once resuming normal activities, you are encouraged to: Wear a well-fitting mask for the next five (5) days.
Enhance your hygiene practices.
Keep a distance from others.
Take steps for cleaner air.
According to the CDC, “Enhanced precautions are especially important to protect those most at risk for severe illness, including those over 65 and people with weakened immune systems…. While it remains a threat, today it is far less likely to cause severe illness because of widespread immunity and improved tools to prevent and treat the disease. Importantly, states and countries that have already adjusted recommended isolation times have not seen increased hospitalizations or deaths related to COVID-19.”
