Little Acorn Academy Preschool
The 2019-20 school-year marked the inaugural year in the renovated Johnston Recreation Center preschool classrooms. The Park District is excited to provide our youngest residents with a state-of-the-art facility that promotes a safe and positive learning environment.
Little Acorn Academy encourages the development of a well-balanced child. We offer a comprehensive readiness-for-school program addressing physical, emotional, social and intellectual needs. Our goal is to creatively and effectively teach students socialization, fine and gross motor skills, and basic academics including language arts, math, science and art.

Little Acorns at Home
Little Acorns at Home is an extension of Little Acorn Academy, designed especially for children to learn at home with adult supervision. Our Little Acorns who participate from home experience the same curriculum goals as in-person students. Miss Terri prepares at-home activities that encourage the development of fine and gross motor skills, and basic academics including language arts, math, science, and art. Theme days are incorporated throughout the program. Every week, Little Acorns receive a book or special activity to enhance the experience.
An at home school supply list will be sent to all students prior to the first week of at home school.
Little Acorns at Home is located under Early Childhood on the registration site.
