The Lounge
The Lounge is relaxing space in the Johnston Recreation Center for active adults and seniors. It features a comfortable seating area to watch TV and movies, play cards, an area to get active with Wii video games, and plenty of space to simply relax and pass the time. Free coffee is available.
Our schedule is subject to change. The Lounge is open Mondays and Wednesdays. The Lounge is Free to all adults; however, some programs and lunches require a registration fee to participate.

Seated Strength and Stretch

You don’t need to leave your seat to work out! This 30-minute class will incorporate light hand weights and stretching to elevate your heart rate, strengthen your upper body and do a full-body stretch. Please wear comfortable clothing and bring a water bottle. The class will take place in the group fitness studio.
Oh, Jackie O!

Book Club Meets

Bloomingdale Park District and Bloomingdale Public Library have partnered up to offer a Book Club quarterly in The Lounge. The book discussion is on Thursday, November 12 at10AM and lead by Reference Librarian Soon Har Tan from the Bloomingdale Public Library. book can be checked out at the Johnston Recreation Center Front Desk. Books area available in regular or large print or an audiobook with CDs.

Enjoy a hot dog lunch and a movie. Lunch is free, but registration is required. An email will be sent regarding the movie title closer to the program date. The movie theme will be something throughout the decades.
Cards and Games

Grab your friends and save the last Friday of the month to play a variety of card and board games in The Lounge. Stop in anytime between the hours of 9:15AM-12:15PM. Coffee is provided.
Blood Pressure Screening
