The Bloomingdale Park District has received the Certificate of Achievement For Excellence in Financial Reporting by the Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada (GFOA). This is the 12th straight year the Park District has earned the distinction.
“This is an honor for the Park District to be recognized in this manner as it confirms the responsible and accountability in the reporting of the district's finances,” said Bloomingdale Park District Executive Director Joe Potts. “Congratulations are in order for Finance Director Jennifer Vale and the Park District auditors, Selden Fox, LTD, who worked together on the comprehensive annual financial report and achieved this prestigious award.”
A press release issued by the GFOA stated, “The report has been judged by an impartial panel to meet the high standards of the program, which includes demonstrating a constructive ‘spirit of full disclosure’ to clearly communicate its financial story and motivate potential users and user groups to read the report. The Certificate of Achievement is the highest form of recognition in the area of governmental accounting and financial reporting, and its attainment represents a significant accomplishment by a government and its management.”
