Commissioner Saverino Receives Prestigious Rising Star State Award

The Bloomingdale Park District proudly celebrates Park Board Commissioner Frank Saverino, Jr., who was awarded the prestigious Rising Star Award at the Soaring to New Heights IPRA/IAPD State Conference. This honor recognizes Frank’s extraordinary commitment to volunteerism, leadership, and passion for parks and recreation. Frank also received recognition at the conference by IAPD with the status of Master Board Member in its Board Member Development Program.

Frank's journey began with the Bloomingdale Baseball & Softball Association and youth soccer coaching, where he instilled values of dedication and teamwork in young athletes. He later joined the Bloomingdale Parks Foundation, spearheading initiatives like the "Aim for the Fences" campaign, which raised critical funds for park improvements. Notable highlights include organizing the helicopter ball drop event at Springfield Park and annual car shows to benefit community programs.

In 2022, Frank advanced his leadership role by becoming a Park Board Commissioner, driving projects that increased financial support and deepened community engagement. His efforts to connect with legislators through park tours and events have strengthened ties between Bloomingdale and local leaders.
