Welcome to the BPD E-newsletter! This monthly update keeps you in tune with all of the events, activities and happenings in the Bloomingdale Park District. Our mission is to efficiently and economically provide recreation programs, facilities and open space designed to provide enjoyable leisure time experiences that benefit the community.

The Park District offers endless opportunities for your child to have a fun and memorable camp experience. Our summer day camp program is designed to spark your child's imagination, grow new friendships, and assist them in discovering new talents each and every day. With creatively-planned activities, campers enjoy summer to the fullest extent and look forward to returning year after year.

The Oasis Swim Academy

Swimming is a critical life safety skill. The Oasis Swim Academy teaches participants this vital skill in and around the water while also providing fun and fitness.

Summer Brochure

Summer Brochure Delivery: April 6-9

The Bloomingdale Park District's Summer Brochure is scheduled to be delivered to residents April 6-9. Copies may also be picked up at the Johnston Recreation Center in the same timeframe.

 

The guide highlights the Park District's fun, affordability, convenience, trendiness and safety with special emphasis on safety.

 

Addtionally, information on The Oasis Water Park, Tompkins Park Grand Opening, Summer Concert Series and more is contained in the summer issue. The middle insert highlights the District's multiple summer camp options.

 

Resident registration is open now. Open registration begins April 27. Register Online.

Fish Release

Fish Release

Fish Release - Help restock ponds at Lakeview Park in Bloomingdale and Turner Park in Roselle at the annual Fish Release held every April. The Fish Release is sponsored by the Rotary Club of Bloomingdale-Roselle and is set for 9 a.m., April 16, 2016. Participants are provided with buckets to dispense fish into the ponds. Dress appropriately as splashing and muddy conditions are likely. All ages are welcome. This is a FREE event! Participants are asked to bring canned goods that are donated to the Bloomingdale Food Pantry.

 

Tompkins Park Playground Grand Opening - Tompkins Park Playground has undergone a complete renovation. Help inaugurate this amazing renovated park with activities including a ribbon cutting ceremony, playground scavenger hunt, refreshments, activities and entertainment 10 a.m. to noon, May 7.

 

Days Off of School - The Park District provides days off of school programming for school districts 13 and 15 for preschool through sixth grade. Activities include games, sports, arts and crafts, indoor and outdoor playtime, cooking, trips, special events and a whole lot more. Upcoming date is April 20. Register online! Days off of school programming is located under Youth General on the registration site.

Klub Friday Night - Friday, April 15 is the next KFN. The program for fourth- and fifth-graders runs 7:30 to 9:30 p.m., at the JRC and features a DJ spinning tunes, games, tournaments and special prizes. Admission includes a piece of pizza and drink. Register online! KFN is located under Teens & Tweens on the registration site.

 

Hangtime - Teens in grades 6-8 enjoy dodgeball, basketball, a DJ and more at Hangtime, 8 to 10 p.m., April 15 at the Westfield Gymnasium. Register online! Hangtime is located under Teens & Tweens on the registration site.

 

Birthday Parties - Bloomingdale Park District birthday parties are easy, affordable and fun! A wide variety of themes are offered, and all parties include a party host, decorated party room, juice, goodie bags, and room set-up and clean-up.
